This goes to show how far the Republicans have stagnated America's domestic issues and have placed their agenda before our country. Nevada is actually thinking about bulding a nuclear facility and it seems that Bush has encouraged the building of these facilities but they're like refinaries, nobody wants to build one in their back yard.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3931579729864611467.post-22173901643097913682007-05-06T14:20:00.000-07:002007-05-06T14:20:00.000-07:00Felix:Thanks for commenting. It is interesting that the leadership on this issue is devloving to the states, with Califprnia taking a mjor step in the right direction. the challenge is that the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution sharply resricts state action here, and that is why we can't ignore the federal government.

The nuclear option is an interesting one. I am not enough of an expert to balance the environmental balance, but nuclear energy is unquestionably a good choice from a climate change perspective. Whether its other environmental problems still make this a bad choice is, of course, the key question.Chuck Blanchardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01417638725063186710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3931579729864611467.post-25105287585188439092007-05-06T14:12:00.000-07:002007-05-06T14:12:00.000-07:00We must begin state by state if Bush Co will not s...We must begin state by state if Bush Co will not secede to environmental global warnings. Now, 45 percent of Arizona's energy is produced through coal, Napolitano passed legislation to reduced green house emissions but it'll do little if we don't eliminate coal usage, aside from car emissions. It's important to urge the Governor with legislation to expand Palo Verde nuclear facility from 3 to 5 plants so that we can eliminate the use of coal as an energy source. Environmentalists may have an issue with it but they must weigh the pros and cons, Nuclear is Green, coal is as dangerous if not greater than car emissions we must not forget.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
